From the 19th-23rd November 2007, Faith Methodist Church Kuching actually organized a yearly program which is Vacation Bible School or also known as VBS. It’s a 5 days program with fun filled activities, stories, songs, and games. And we’ll always have a closing night where parents are invited to see their kids perform on stage. Here’s a few pictures that was taken during the day time. For more pictures please refer to my flickr account or multiply page.

Wasn’t able to go around shooting today, due to the rain and the skies didn’t look too interesting. Anyway, it was my lovely wife’ turn to fool around with the camera. And her model was our pet cat Ah Dut. I must say she does take much better quality photos compare to me.. Guess it needs a woman touch to perfect it. :) For more pictures you can either visit my flickr site or multiply. They’re both the same :) Enjoy!

Sky Pictures

This is something where I think I really need help in. As you noticed from my previous pictures, all the pictures of my skies ended up being too white. If I were to lower down my exposure, my other objects would be darker. -_-” Here are a few samples that I took, while the other sky pictures you can view it here in my multiply page.

Ok. Last few pictures before calling it a night. My expedition ended when it was about to rain, so I quickly went over to India Street and take a few shots then walked back to the shop along waterfront. Anyway, you can see more pictures that were taken here at my Flickr Account. Still considering of upgrading it. Well, will see how it goes once I finished up using my bandwith.. HEhehe.. So it’s all good. Anyway, enough nonsense. Here are a few of my favorite pictures.

Taking Pictures of People

Well, I guess I might need to live with this kit lens for now. Thinking of getting another lens, will see how it goes. It would be easier to capture expression on people’s face, and would really love to do that. But for now, all I can do is try to stand a distance and see how it goes :P

Photoshop : White Balance

I’ve been fiddling around with Lightroom for a while now. It basically has most of the features that I need to actually fix up my photos that has color problems. And taking RAW format pictures really helps out a lot in repairing pictures :) But for those camera’s don’t support RAW it’s ok. You could still edit your pictures using this software. Anyway, here’s a sample of what I did.

Notice how pictures mostly turns out yellow whenever you take pictures without using flash in a warm setting rooms or dinner functions? The fact that it turns out this way is due to the White Balance or WB that’s set in your camera. For those camera that supports RAW, you can set your WB at Automatic. But for those, who can’t support RAW format. What I use to do is that, I go to my A70 White Balance control and set them to Custom. After that, point to the direction I want to shoot and press SET once. What happens here is that, it helps set that appropriate setting for the White Balance.

Anyway, if you have no idea what in the world I’m talking about, you can always “PHOTOSHOP” it. Hehehe. Which I now have the urge in starting to play around with it. Anyway, this is how it turned out when I adjust the colors in Lightroom, and this is how it turned out.

What I did was that, I sort of cool down the temperature giving it a less warmer (yellow) look. And add a bit of Vignetting giving the center a slightly more focus. Anyway, I’m still at the stage of learning, so do keep the comments coming and add any extra info if you can.
